This is a manual focus lens. About 3/4 turn to go from closest to infinity. The gearing gives you very much fine tuning control on to close subjects and gradually less for more distant objects. The closest focusing distance is about 6 meter. The front element does not rotate when focusing, which is always a plus if you plan on using filter adapters or polarizing filters.
